Get to Know Us

Empowered Me LLC began with a vision: to create a space where individuals could feel safe to heal, grow, and reconnect with their authentic selves through storytelling. The journey started from a deep understanding of how life’s challenges—trauma, uncertainty, and self-doubt—can leave us feeling stuck. Drawing from personal experiences and over 7 years of professional work in the social service and mental health fields, Empowered Me LLC was born as a response to a growing need for holistic healing. As a Hmong woman deeply connected to her culture and community, Mai Choo Yang felt a calling to blend traditional and holistic practices with modern approaches to healing. Guided by her Master’s degree in Holistic Health Studies and her passion for helping others, she envisioned a way to empower individuals to balance their mind, body, and spirit. Empowered Me LLC is more than a business—it’s a movement. It’s about storytelling, connection, and creating a ripple effect of healing and growth. Through services like intuitive life coaching, intuitive readings, Reiki healing, and storytelling, Empowered Me LLC inspires individuals to move beyond their trauma and toward a life filled with clarity, purpose, and resilience. Our story is your story—a shared journey of discovering strength, overcoming challenges, and finding the courage to move forward.

About Me

Nyob Zoo! My name is Mai Choo Yang.

I am a first-generation HMong American womxn with a deep passion for helping others heal, grow, and thrive. Professionally, I serve as a Lead Counselor Bilingual at Amherst H. Wilder Foundation, where I provide Targeted Case Management support to individuals navigating complex mental health challenges. In addition, I am the Founder and CEO of Empowered Me LLC, a holistic wellness business dedicated to empowering individuals to find balance and clarity in their lives. As a single mother of four beautiful children—two boys and two girls—I understand the challenges and joys of balancing personal and professional life. One of my children has been diagnosed with high-functioning Autism and ADHD, which has deepened my understanding of neurodiversity and strengthened my commitment to creating inclusive, supportive environments for all. With more than 7+ years of experience in mental health, I have worked with diverse populations of children and adults managing serious and persistent mental illnesses, addictions, and autism. My educational background, including a Master’s degree in Holistic Health Studies and an addiction counseling certificate, equips me with the tools to approach mental health and addiction through a holistic and trauma-informed lens. At the core of my work is a commitment to providing safe and nurturing spaces where individuals can heal and move forward. I draw from my own personal experiences and professional expertise to guide clients in recognizing their strengths, building resilience, and uncovering pathways to hope. I am especially passionate about serving my Hmong community and others, helping them reconnect with their authentic selves and find healing through holistic practices. My goal is to inspire and empower individuals to embrace mental wellness, holistic health, and personal growth, ultimately creating a ripple effect of healing and transformation in their communities.
